Primary events in the photocatalytic deposition of silver on nanoparticulate TiO_2

The photocatalytic deposition of metallic silver on TiO_2 from silver salt solution has been of considerable interest for mechanistic reasons~(1-4) for the applicability of the technology to silver recovery, e.g., from waste photographic effluents~(5-7). The chemistry has also been proposed as the basis for several photoimaging processes.~8
