The effects of collector type and grinding environment on the flotation selectivity of Rosh Pinah complex Pb/Zn ore were investigated. It was found that the flotation performance of collector was directly related to the milling environment. The flotation of galena was severely retarded under the common low carbon steel milling environment due to the low Eh and iron oxides coating, and a stronger collector, such as Aerophine 3418A, Aero242, was needed in this situation. In contrast to this, the floatability of galena was well kept under milling in the non-ferrous, oxidizing environment, and much better flotation selectivity could be obtained using a relatively weaker collector.
