摘要

This paper firstly presents the basic structure and work principle of the vertical screw stirred mill, and then describes how to design and manufacture the vertical screw stirred mill. In order to determine the optimal structure and parameters of the vertical screw stirred mill economically, computational fluid dynamics combined with plenty of experimental data obtained from lab mill is used to optimise the mill’s structure and parameters gradually. The design and manufacture of the mill are based on the engineering enlargement principle that combines the method of computational flow field numerical simulation with the conventional mechanics analysis together. The use of the mill in regrinding and scrubbing molybdenum ores apparently raises the grade and recovery of its concentrate. Meanwhile, this paper also introduces the mill’s application in the other areas such as fine grinding in gold ores, regrinding in copper, lead-zinc, iron ores and manganous manganic oxide (Mn_3O_4) production. Vertical screw stirred mill’s put into industrial production shows and proves its excellent performance in regrinding, fine grinding and scrubbing.
