Nanning-Japan Friendship Solar house

OM passive solar systems have already been installed in many buildings throughout Japan. While passive solar engineering techniques have established ways to supply ofheat in winter, there is a great deal of research still to be done to find methods to apply solar systems to summer conditions. OM Solar Association is going ahead with plans to construct a house, named the Nanning-Japan Friendship Solar House, for field testing passive solar systems in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuangzn Province in the southermmost part of China near the Vietnamese border. The local climate is hot and humid, with very little wind, whihc makes it an ideal location for field testing. The project is being carried out with the cooperation of the Guangxi Academy of Science. The design of the house, under the leadership of Architect Mr. Akio Okumura, is a combined effort between OM Solar Association and the Academy. After completion, joint research is planned to find ways to develop effective passive solar ventilation and thermal insulation techniques for combating heat. nanning is a brick manufacturing center. We hope this project will make good use fo locally rpoduced building materiais.
