We are proposing a new system of sintering the pelletized ash by feeding it into the circulating fluidized bed incinerator (CFBI) under a high temperature. The pelletized ash becomes a pellet-like aggregate when using the combustion heat of the sludge. Under experimental conditions, the sintered pelletized ash thus obtained with this system (hereafter, we will call it sintered ash) is found to have a greater bulk density. This operation also not only to make the disposal site volume smaller but also to realize the easy handling and disposal of ash due to no fine dust generation. Thus, we understand that the reuse of sintered ash as primary product such as artificial light-weight aggregates, filler material can be expected.
