The Coastal Remote Sensing (CRS) Program at the NOAA Coastal Services Center (CSC) in Charleston, South Carolina seeks to provide coastal resource managers with practical high-technology data products based on scientific developments in remote sensing from satellites and aircraft. CSC/CRS identifies promising new remote sensing techniques, and works to bridge cience and management by protoyping remote sensina data products that aid coastal decision-makers. Current CRS projects involve te creation of advanced coastal resource management tools based on broad-band visible region (NOAA AVHRR) observations. ocean color (OCTS) sensing from satellite, and airborne LIDAR systems.
