The Development and the state of the art of pavement technology in China

摘要

This paper introduces briefly some main aspects of the development of pavement technology in recent more than 10 years and the state of the art in China. It Includes significant achievements obtained in many respects of pavement technology, such as the performance of semi-rigid materials the superiorityof thick semi-rigid layer. the bearing capacity of semi-rigid pavement, the functional role of asphalt surfacing, the cracking and suitable thickness of asphalt surfacing, the skid resistant top surfacing layer and waterproof layer. These achievements have formed the model of construction of pavement on high-class highways in China, the characteristic of which is strong foundation and thin asphalt surfacing.
