摘要

We propose that the structural regularity of the standard genetic code reflects two paradoxical requests from the evolution, which are the robustness and adatability against single base mutations. The robustness against insertion of stop codons is also considered. Analysis indicates that the standard genetic code presents structural properties for high robustness and adaptability. The work gives the design criteria of genetic codes of evolutionary systems.
