This paper presents the application of SIEMENS equipment of BAS(Basic Automation System) of CCMs at WISCO No.3 Steelmaking Plant in 1996. The examples of network configuration, control functions of BAS and characteristics of the system are described. The methods of improving the reliability of the system in practical application are also put forward.
