Interstop revolving tube valve-RTV a new precision casting system for continuous casting

摘要

The Revolving tube Valve -RTV - is a new system for metering and controlling the steel flow on a caster between tundish and mould. The RTV is a system with improved precision in controlling. It is combpletely immersed in the liquid steel. This paper covers the development of this new casting system and experimences of a long term trial operation at VOEST ALPINE STAHL DONAWITZ in Austria.
