THE DEVELOPING TREND OF THE AGRICULTURAL GEOLOGY IN CHINA

Over a hundred years have passed since the " agricultural geology" was first put forward by European scientists, F. A. Fellow and F. V. Richthofen, et al. in the middle of the 19th century.Like other sciences, it also has gone through such an evolution process as practice-cognition-repractice-recognition. The crux subjects and the scope of the study are changing and expanding all the time. On one hand it is more synthetic and it is more divisive on the other. Especially in the recent two decades, with the pressure ,of world population, resources shortage, grain and environmental problems, the agricultural geology is gradually evolving into a study of agricultural eco-environmental geology and is drawing the world-wide attention again. This is because that the agricultural ecological geo-environment (referring to the geo-environment concerning agricultural ecology) plays a decisive role in the agricultural production and exerts an important effect on the existing environment of mankind. Moreover, the relation between the geo-environment and the living beings is always existent and is a scientific problem with tremendous potentialities, which have been recognized by more and more scientists.
