The salt lakes lying across Ih Ju League of Inner Mongolia are not only located exactly in the monsoon zone of East Asia but characteristic of more persistent saline deposition, high sensitivity to and high resolution of climatic changes. In a word, no places but the Ih Ju saline lakes are the base on which the palaeoclimatic evolution after the summit of the last glacial stage is studied. In the present research, a large number of testing methods, such as O and C isotopes, trace elements, interrelative elements, magnetic susceptibility, pH value, OC, TC, CO_2, and various chemical analyses are used for testing and examining the complete drilling cores from six holes of five saline lakes. On the basis of the results from the tests, a synthetic curve of climatic fluctuation has been worked out, most comprehensively and representively reflecting the law of climatic evolution in 100-year units in the past 23 Ka in the Ih Ju region. At the same time, a model for climatic fluctuation in the same period has also been established.
