Testing BPR common wisdom

摘要

The purpose of the research was to empirically determine what benefits were realized by organizations that have undertaken a business process reengineering (BPR) project. The survey's respondents indicated that they were generally satisfied with their BPR projects. The findings suggest that BPR enabled organizations to increase productivity, to raise the quality of products and services, to increase costs savings, and to improve the quality of the organizational environment. The success factors, which lead to these advantages, are the compliance with BPR principles, the methodological rigor of the BPR approach and the diversity of the project resources, in turn determined by the level of organizational support.
