The observed values of d{sub}(33pc) constant (electric displacement/stress), the g{sub}(33pc) constant (electric field/stress) and e (electric permittivity) of LZT/PS composites, are closely related to the predicted for a two-phase system,composed of a continuous matrix and piezoelectic inclusions.The voltage piezoelectric constant g{sub}(33pc) is ~4 times greater and acoustic impedance Z{sub}(pc)~3 times lower for LZT/PS composite compared to the LZT ceramic. The sensitivity of the composite sensors is as high as for the LZT ceramic. Thenon-uniform distributions of polarization at near electrode regions are observed.
