摘要

We present the results of a field-trial with a commercial 2.5 Gbit/s transmission system near zero-dispersion and a +22 dBm booster EDFA. It was found that the ASE of the EDFA was parametrically amplified by the process of modulation instability, which caused a BER-floor of 10~(-10). There was a good agreement between theory and measurements.
