STUDY CONCERNING PREPARATION AND NON-LINEAR OPTICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF CDS_xSE_(1-x) NANOCRYSTALLITES DOPED SILICATE GLASSES
CdS_xSe_(1-x)(0< x <1) nanocrystallites doped silicate glasses with a large non - linear optical effect and clear quantum confinement effect have been successfully prepared by melting method. The influences of S/Se ratio、 heat -treatment process and CdS_xSe_(1-x)、 SiO_2 B_2O_3 content on the properties of CdS_xSe_(1-x) nonocrystallites derived from silicate glass matrix were studied in detail in this work. The particle size、 particle size distribution and micrograph of CdS_xSe_(1-x) nonocrystallites were examined by transmission electron microscopy. The optical absorption spectra、 photoluminescence spectra and degenerate four -wave mixing were used to characterize the relationship of heat treatment process with quantum confinement effect and non-linear optical effect. The quantum confinement effect and large nonlinear optical effect were clearly observed in these glasses. Finally, the mechanism for quantum confinement effect and nonlinear optical effect in the experimental glasses were briefly discussed.
