The ITER divertor

After two years of development the ITER divertor has now reached a stage where the requirements are finalised, the concept is frozen and engineering design and analysis have made substantial progress. This paper summarises the requirements for the divertor and presents the status of the design and the related analysis with emphasis on thermomechanical, electromagnetic and neutronic problems.
