It has been conceived that direct nitrification and denitrification reactions would not take place under neutral pH range by ozonation. However, it has been reported that the denitrification reaction can take place under the existence of certain amounts of bromide ion in solution even under neutral pH range. In this research, the effect of coexistence of organic matters on the chemical denitrification reaction of ammonium nitrogen by ozonation is examined. Based on experimental data, the denitrification reaction is expressed to be zero order on nitrogen concentration, linearly proportional to ozone gas concentration introduced and Monod type equation on bromide ion concentration
