Vector control methods for induction machines imply an enough precise knowledge of the electromechanical model of the machine to pilot. In the view of obtaining control strategies independent of this model, this paper proposes the study and the implementation of self calibration algorithm for an asynchronous motor speed drive. The self-calibration consists of a preliminary identification of electrical parameters when the motor is at standstill. In a first part, the retained model is considered and then the different identification methods are described. Finally, results of simulation are completed by experimental results for a range of machine from 2.2 kW to 11 kW.
