The testing for fire-survival and water ingress of electrical distribution and peripheral equipment for use in emergency systems

The author discusses the requirements for fire and water ingress testing quoting the relevant standards and regulations. The mounting of the equipment under test is discussed. The vibration testing of emergency electrical lighting junction boxes used in the Channel Tunnel is used as an example.
