Ozone, activated carbon and the-formation

Ozone has been used for the treatment of river water s ince more than 30 years along the Rhine reiver and experince has been good for this treatment stpe. High DOC values of rivers in eastern germany introducted higher THM values as a new treament problem, resulting from the humic substances. But they can be very different from one water to the other. Besides THM formation humics are also different with regard to the effectivity of ozonation, of biological oxidation and of adsorption.
