Preozone pretreatment and post ozone disinfection at travis air force base water treatment plant

The Travis Air Force Base (AFB) Water Treatment Plant was recently expanded from 3 mgd to 7.5 mgd capacity and upgraded to meet Surface Water Treatment Rule requirements. This plant operated by the City of Vallejo, California, treats water from Cache and Barker Sloughs in the Sacramento River Delta. The overall treatment system is designed for a 5-log reduction of Giardia, 6-log reduction of enteric virus, THM reduction, to minimize algae taste and odor problems, and vulnerability to pesticide/herbicide spills.
