245 kV XLPE cables as a mesh in a 220 kV overhead line transmission network

摘要

The idea arose to feed the substations in the central parts of Stockholm with 245 kV XLPE cables and to equip the substations with 220/11 kV transformers of the same type i.e. two 11 kV windings and two 11 kV busbars. The author discusses the background to the project, project planning, load flow and short-circuit calculations, transient temperature calculation, cooling, induced voltages in communication cables, safety, and influence of arcs on cable faults.
