The present research sets out to evaluate the use of ferrocement as a repair material for axially loaded reinforced square short columns. In this relation ten columns were tested. Each column was damaged and repaired with different layers of square welded mesh impregnated with cement mortar. Two columns were used as control specimens. They were loaded to failure to determine the ultimate capacity of the original specimens. The subsequent columns were then damaged prior to repair. The experimental programme during this investigation concerns the behaviour and analysis of ferrocement repaired square columns without consideration being given to the slenderness effects. The study of ferrocement repaired columns examines the effect of the application of different number of layers of square welded mesh on the overall strength.
