Research achievements and engineering practices of the shrinkage-compensating concrete in China are described in the paper. In order to find solution of cracking and permeability for reinforced concrete several expansive agents and expansive cements are developed in China. Through practices of a great number of engineerings using the shrinkage compensating concrete, three major techniques (the structural self-waterproofing, jointless design and construction, and controlling of cracking and leaking for mass concrete) have been used and populated extensively in China, Coming up to the present world-advanced stage.
