The problem of hydroelectric scheduling requires the modeling of the hydroelectric system. Hydroelectric system models are developed based primarily on empirical tables derived from field measurements and on water balance equations. The empirical tables yield good hydroelectric system model equations that are suitable for solving the hydroelectric scheduling problem in the Seven Forks Scheme. The cascaded hydroelectric plants (Seven Forks Scheme) in Kenya consist of five hydrostations on the Lower Tana River. The authors present the hydroelectric system model equations and results of comparisons between measured values and those predicted using the system models.
