The extent of the area affected by delayed image interference from the large tower at Canary Wharf in London Docklands has been surveyed in some detail and it is confirmed that in excess of 100000 people have had their picture affected to some degree. Some understanding of the mechanism of the reflection has been gained and possible remedies have been suggested, all of which would be expensive to implement. To date no practical cure to the problem has been found but the findings have showed the need for great care when considering planning applications for future buildings.
