This paper reports a rapid wireless charging UAV and its inductive charging port in 85-kHz band. The unique frustum structure, which is made of FRP, of the charging port enables a light-weight power receive equipment without a ferrite block in UAV, high mutual inductance between coils, prevention of misalignment of the coils. The measured receive dc power and current of batteries is 390 W and 8.46 A, respectively. The result and a successful test flight of the test UAV show a great potential of the proposed UAV and wireless charging port to realize rapid charging for large size UAVs.
