Bus Location System with LoRa to Cover the Entire Nonoichi City

We have been developing a bus location system using LoRa for the community buses in Nonoichi city, Japan. The conventional system has covered only one route and have had reliability problems that communication is done incorrectly in rare cases, sometimes the bus position display is incorrect. Therefore, we decided to cover the entire city of Nonoichi with LoRa network and support all routes running in the city. We also considered adopting multi-channel communication and multiple gateways to improve the reliability of the system. In this article, we describe a multi-channel and multiple gateways scheme to improve reliability.
