Resource Management Method of Transport Software-defined Network

The development of software-defined communication networks leads to an exponential growth in traffic served by telecommunication equipment. In transport communication networks, the problem is most urgent, since this type of networks should provide the most efficient data transfer between subnets. Thus, an urgent task is to distribute the available resources of the SDN between the incoming IP streams. The paper presents the results of the development of method for managing network transport resources based on the theory of queuing systems, taking into account the parameters of the average packet service rate, communication channel capacity and variable network topology. Based on the calculated parameters, the structure of the method for managing the resources of the transport network of the SDN is developed. The described method based on the principle of reducing energy consumption for establishing the data transmission path and allows to obtain an estimated benefit of up to 30%.
