Surface water plays a vital role in industrial and agricultural production, climate regulation and ecosystem maintenance. Under the influence of climate change and human activities, the spatio-temporalattern of surface water is constantly changing, so it is of great significance to monitor its spatiotemporal changes quickly and accurately for the sustainable development of social economy and the management and protection of water resources. The shrinking of surface water bodies in the basin has caused a series of problems such as the degradation of ecological quality and the aggravation of urban heat island phenomenon, which seriously affected the quality of human life. In this paper, taking Erhai Lake Basin as the study area, the water bodies information in 1989,1999,2009 and 2019 is extracted and classified based on long-time Landsat remote sensing images. The temporal and spatial pattern of surface water in Erhai Lake Basin in recent 30 years is obtained, and the relationship between surface water change, climate change and human activities is discussed.
