摘要

In this work we propose a case of Hybrid compression i.e., Huffman based LZW. The performance of this algorithm is better than the traditional algorithm and it is observed to offer better compression ratio than in single compression or when compared with the individual two algorithms. If we tend to compress the information first by Huffman encoding technique and then LZW will be performed, better compression ratio is achieved for this hybrid technique. Hence it is named as “Data compression algorithm utilizing LZW Framework based on Huffman Technique”. By this approach we get an average compression ratio and saving percentage of 5 and 70%. This would provide us inexpensive, credible and cost-effective lossless encoding systems for electronic communication systems.
