The Application of GKS to Photovideotex

摘要

The device independence and other concepts adopted in GKS are undoubtedly powerful for manipulating graphical information.An approach which uses GKS as a foundation for the design of a photovidetex system is presented in this paper.It allows graphics,images and text to be integrated in a device independent and flexible manner.The system characteristics are demonstrated by describing a retrieval session,which illustrates the various sophisticated features that can be provided to the user.
