摘要

Various noise mitigation techniques have been proposed for improving the performance of coded digital communication systems operating in impulsive or burst noise channels.Generally these take the form of some nonlinear device for exorcising,or otherwise de-emphasizing,highlevel pulses due to impulse or burst noise hits.The nonlinear device can be a predetection nonlinearity preceding the assumed matched-filter demodulator,or a postdetection nonlinearity operating on the matched filter outputs sampled at the baud rate. In this paper we describe the relative performance of selected predetection and postdetection nonlinear noise mitigation techniques in coded digital communication systems operating in impulsive or burst noise interference.Attention is restricted to either BPSK or QPSK modulation in conjunction with short-constraint length convolutional codes.
