A computer simulation language,COMSIM, has been designed and developed to provide digital communication system analysis capabilities at Lockheed Missiles and Space Company. With COMSIM,the Monte Carlo method is utilized to simulate bit error rate performance for a BPSK communication system. The BPSK system employs convolutional coding,Viterbi decoding, interleaving and deinterleaving,in a Gaussian noise and pulsed interference environment. Hard and soft decoded bit error rate performance measures are examined for a convolutional code of rate 1/2,constraint length 7.The BPSK communication system is presented within the context of the COMSIM designprocess,language dialogue, and communications process commands.
