The carrier frequency false lock phenomenon for the multiple path long loop is analyzed in the presence of accumulated time delays in the signal paths. The effects of the time delays and the frequency multiplying factors on the false lock problem are studied.Optimization of parameters is shown to be possible in some regions. An equivalent circuit of the N-path long loop is derived, which can be used to find the frequency lock points.Numerical results are provided for the cases N = 2 and 3.
