摘要

The application Software residing in the GTD 3 EAX-I system is built around an architecture strongly influenced by the Finite State Machine (FSM)model. This design choice proved to be beneficial with respect to both software implementation and testing, confirming the FSM as an adequate tool for mastering the complexity of the problems to be solved at the application level in Real-Time Systems.This paper outlines how the architecture has facilitated the software testing phase, mainly through the enforcement of a clear allocation of functions to software modules and through the standardization of the interface between them.In addition some methods and tools, which have been used in the different phases of testing this very large software product ,are considered.
