AUTOMATIC PROGRAM CONTROLLED TESTING USING A PRDBLEM-ORIENTED LANGUAGE

Automatic testing increases the efficiency of testing considerably and makes large scale regression testing possible. It requires however that both test generation and test verification is automated. For automatic testing of telecommunication switching systems a special problem oriented language has been developed which has special features for easy programming of initiation as well as verification of tests. The language is based on CHILL, the highlevel language developped by CCITT, and is named PILOT(Programmed-Interaction Language for Operation and Test). In our switching systems (AXE, AXB and MD 110) program controlled testing is used at all levels of testing, I.e. Unit testing, integration testing ( function testing) and system testing.
