In this paper triangle type checkerboard surface is presented to reduce radar cross section (RCS). The design is based on plannar dielectric non-absorptive artificial magnetic conductors (AMCs) working at mmwave. For the proposed surface −8 dB normalized RCS reduction is achieved from 59 GHz to 73 GHz. It is shown that the triangle type proposed structure redirects the scattered energy into several lobes, which means further RCS reduction. The angular stability of dielectric based triangle type checkerboard surface is also studied up to 40°, where reasonable results are obtained.
