Development of Power Control Unit for Small Hybrid Vehicle with Two-motor Hybrid System

摘要

For a small-sized two-motor hybrid vehicle, a small-sized andlightweight GEN3-PCU including a DC-DC converter and with lowcost compared to the previous GEN2-PCU has been achieved.The major technical points are as follows:1. The function integrating All-in-One IPM that incorporates the ECUand current sensor2. Reduction in the number and area of power devices owing to theuse of RC-IGBTs, reduced losses, and high temperature operation3. Downsizing of VCU components through adjustable frequencycontrol, ripple suppression control, and enhanced cooling forcapacitor4. For production processes, the number of processes was reducedand automation was further introduced owing to the reducednumber of PCU components and unified reflow processes.
