摘要

The increasing volume of traffic, the changing composition of mobility users, as well asnew types of automated and semi-autonomous traffic objects bring complex challengesfor future traffic management. An alternative to current approaches to trafficcounting and management (GPS, induction loop, thermal imaging camera) could beLiDAR technology in the future. This paper deals with the challenges and trends in thefield of traffic monitoring and discusses a new LiDAR-based sensor system solutionwith AI software to improve the data situation for stationary and flowing traffic.
