Applying the Noaa Unique Combined Atmospheric Processing System (Nucaps) to Support Forecasters at the US Navy And US Air Force in Monitoring Impactful Pacific Weather Events

The recent emergence of the NOAA Unique Combined Atmospheric Processing System (NUCAPS) provides operational forecasters with unprecedented information in 3D atmospheric profiling. The NUCAPS product suite consists of Skew-T profiles, constant pressure plane surfaces, and vertical slicing views of thermal and moisture components. This presentation will describe the application of NUCAPS over impactful weather features within the Pacific basin.
