The AWWA Cybersecurity Tool: A User-Friendly Way to Build AWIA 2018 Compliance and Your Cyber-Resilience

Within the last several decades cybersecurity threats like cyber-terrorism and ransomware attacks have grown into a problem of general concern. These attacks can impact anyone from private citizens to large information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) systems like the critical infrastructures underpinning modern society. These critical infrastrucfure IT/OT systems serving the people of the United States have been found to be particularly vulnerable to such attacks. To help water utilities become more cyber-resilient, the American Water Works Association (AWWA) updated the Water Sector Cybersecurity Risk Management Guidance and Tool (guidance and tool).
