摘要

The torsion fretting fatigue experiments and tribological tests on low alloy steel were conducted. Alarge difference between the values of wear coefficients from two types of the test was observed. This discrepancy can be explained by the formation of the oxide film which reduces the coefficient of friction and protects the contacting surfaces. A simplified wear model was proposed to determine wear under fretting conditions. The value of wear coefficient for low alloy steel obtained from fretting fatigue experiments can be used for FEM modeling.
