Vapor compression very high temperature heat pumps (VHTHPs) with low-GWP refrigerants haveattracted enormous attention for waste heat recovery. To yield high temperature output, a watervapor screw compressor with water-injection is developed and a VHTHP prototype is established toconduct the experimental investigation. The results show that when condensation temperature T_cincreases from 110 to 150°C and evaporation temperature T_e is 75°C, 80°C and 85°C, COP of thisVHTHP ranges between 1.85-4.03, 1.89-4.88 and 1.96-6.10, respectively. COP can reach thehighest value 6.10 with heating capacity of 284.7 kW at T_e=85°C, T_c=117°C. What’s more, thehighest condensation temperature of this water vapor VHTHP can reach 150°C with the COP of1.96 when T_e=85°C. So the water vapor VHTHP can supply pressured hot water or hightemperature steam when the user is favourable. Considering the characteristic of high energyefficiency and environment friendly, this VHTHP is highly desirable and competitive.
