Wideband, Wide-Angle Scanning Long Slot Array with FSS Superstrate

摘要

In this paper, A novel broadband wide-scan antenna is presented. It consists of an array of long slots backed by a metallic reflector and loaded with two layers of frequency selective surface(FSS) superstrates that extends the bandwidth and scan ranges. The antenna is planar, and only needs to be fed by the coaxial line, without additional balun structure, reducing the complexity and cost of the array. The proposed structure is simulated and the results show that scanning angle ranges of to 80° in E-plane while 60° in H-plane within 8 GHz to 11 GHz operating bandwidth.
