Common-Path Optical Coherence Tomography (CPOCT) has the advantages of easy configuration compared with uncommon-path OCT, and eliminating the need for calibrating the difference in the optical-path length between the sample and reference arms. However, it has a disadvantage in that penetrative depth is less than that of the uncommon-path OCT system. This makes the system unable to acquire the depth profile when rough superficial samples are scanned. In this paper, we described a real-time surface tracking algorithm designed to acquire better depth profiles by minimizing the disadvantages of the CPOCT system. The result shows an obvious difference in the depth profile before and after the application of the algorithm.
