Application study of variable PD sensors for PD measurement of power cable circuit in operation

摘要

It is introduced some new application of partial discharge sensors with different frequency property, including high frequency pulse current sensor, acoustic emission sensor, transient earth voltage sensor and ultra high frequency electromagnetic wave sensor. For easy comparison of these sensors their application on cable circuits are shown with a lots of pictures taken from site. It is also discussed that the sensor installation methods to different types of cable joints and terminations. It is just told that the correct selection of sensor and correct installation of sensor are very important to ensure an on-site partial discharge measurement with higher accuracy and higher reliability. Some successful on-site partial discharge detection and localization examples are also reported.
