The disturbance arising from capacitor switching is often used in researching the relative problems of status monitoring and power quality, and the accurate transient features are the important infrastructure of these researches. The transient features of the existing capacitor switching are mainly based on the premise of three-phase synchronous switching. However, it is difficult to close the three-phase switches simultaneously, so these features cannot entirely represent the actual capacitor switching features. Therefore, according to the three-phase decoupling equivalent circuit for back-to-back capacitor switching, the transient features of capacitor asynchronous switching are analyzed and established. By comparing with the synchronous switching, the influence of the asynchronous switching on the transient features is analyzed. The simulation results show that the transient features of asynchronous switching are correct.
