A C-band prototype of 1-bit dual-polarized tiled transmitarray architecture are discussed, whereby the required phase distribution across the array aperture is built from separate unit cells fabricated individually and assembled in the required pattern. The proposed tiled transmitarray illuminated by a printed focal-plane patch antenna array has been measured for a prescribed phase distribution pattern to steer the beam in a given direction. The combination of reconfigurable phase distribution capabilities with the beam switching at the focal-plane array provides independent dual-beam steering at predefined directions. Results of the measurement and EM simulation of the radiation patterns of the tiled 1-bit transmitarray illuminated by a 4-patch focal-plane array for different phase distribution at f = 5.75GHz are discussed.
